This sub-series consists of short writings and other manuscripts created or kept by Robert Hume, including a short report on the Provincial Agricultural Fair held in Cobourg in October 1855 (a precursor of the Canadian National Exhibition); a talk on sheep husbandry that he gave to the local agricultural society; letters to the editor of English periodicals containing his remarks on Susanna Moodie's "Roughing it in the Bush", the gold question and currency, and emigration to Canada; short manuscripts on Confederation, homes and habitations, homesteading, and other subjects; verse and inspirational writings; and financial and estate papers.
