Collection documents the spread of the Okanagan Mountain fire, over the course of several days, from the vantage point of Westbank, BC (directly across Okanagan Lake). The Okanagan Mountain fire began near Rattlesnake Island in Okanagan Lake in August 2003 and spread rapidly, threatening the communities of Naramata and Kelowna. In Kelowna, nearly 250 homes were destroyed by the fire as well as several trestles from the Myra Canyon section of the Kettle Valley Railway before it was extinguished in September 2003.
