Footage shows: landing craft, possibly on beach (water not visible); tanks; minesweeper; close-up of explosions; vehicles on beach; rough terrain. This is a round-up of film of British Second Army activities in the north, filmed on January 16, 17, 18, 19 and 20, 1945, approved by Supreme Allied Command, London and provided courtesy of British Information Services. It shows: British capture of Echt, Stein Sittard and Schilberg in Holland, mopping up Nazis on Holland-German border to outflank Cologne, and prelude to Allied assault on Western line to match Russian drive. British Second Army Front, Holland-German border, north of Aachen, Germany, the first pictures of the British advance since Von Runstedt rout, the first Allied attack on the Nazi's Westwall since Von Runstadt's broke through in December, British 2nd Army troops under Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery crack German line in the Dutch panhandle, 50 miles north of Aachen. The objective is to widen the north flank of the American salient pointed at Cologne and the industrial Rhineland, the heart of Nazi resistance.
