Box 1 of this accession (formerly box 57 of OFRC 90-469) consists of legislation files of the Department. The files may contain discussion papers, drafts, memoranda, correspondence, printed material, briefs and reports. Subjects include: War measures act; Atomic energy control act; Combines investigation act amendment etc.

Box 2 of this accession (formerly box 83 of OFRC 90-469) consists of civil litigation files. These files date from 1965 and are organized by the name of the private party involved in the case, a brief resume of the particulars of the case, and the client department and type of case. The files may contain the following types of documents: correspondence, memoranda, many legal documents both original and copies (for example, affidavits, writ of summons, notices of appeal, examination for discovery, notice of motion, case arguments), copies of other documents such as credit reports, financial statements, medical statements, customs declarations, background material, deportation orders, bills and estimates for repairs and printed material.
