(No finding aid) While there is no finding aid for this material, the photo sleeves contain the following information: negative number, project number, date of creation, laboratory, photographed by, photo for and remarks on image. As well, a listing of negatives for related Forest Management Institute Photo Unit projects not found in this accession was found with the records. The note on the list reads: "List of negatives (mostly 4" x 5") photographed by F.M.I. Photo Unit (Ottawa) for Philip Gimbarzevsky during period of 1972 to 1978 which now will be turned over to Mr. Gimbarzesky." (Restrictions not set)

General note:

The accession appears to consist of negatives (mostly 4" x 5") photographed by the Forest Management Institute Photo Unit, Ottawa. Subjects include, but are not limited to: various equipment, trees, regions and graphics.

The accession consists of a two-drawer metal unit of negatives and one loose envelope of negatives created by the F.M.I. but unrelated to the rest of the material (which has been placed at the front of the first drawer).

Custodial history:

The records were discovered by Kara Quann, textual records archivist for Environment Canada in Room 3113A of the West Memorial Building. After consulting with Andrew Rodger, photographic archivist, in the spring 2003, it was decided that the records would be transferred to Photo Archives. Custodial history prior to this is unknown.
