Collection search - Photographs from the post 1962 numeric classification system [graphic material]

The images in this classification system were split into two parts in 1971 when the Government of Canada restructured its management of photographs. The photographs that were considered to be more artistic remained under the control of the NFB's Still Photography Division and eventually became the basis for the photography collection at the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography at the National Gallery of Canada.
Some of these images were transferred to the Archives from the NFB in the 1970s but the majority were transferred to the Archives in the 1980s likely due to the shift of the Photothèque to the Department of Supply and Services and then in the 1990s when the Photothèque in Supply and Services was shutting down.

This series description and arrangement was altered as part of a re-arrangement and re-description project in 2019/2020. These photographs, item and accession records, were previously arranged in the Still ¨Photography Division Sub-series of the Phototheque series of the NFB fonds.
