This album, comprised of 146 pages on which 125 photographs are mounted, contains photos by Alexander Stevenson while he was on board the "C.D. Howe" - a 3,600 ton vessel built for the Department of Transport which carried the Eastern Arctic Patrol on its maiden voyage in 1950. It was also a landing surface for a Sikorsky -51 helicopter. A helicopter crash on August 5, 1950 killed government interpreter Sam Ford. A lot of medical officers were part of this patrol and examined the health of the Inuit - teeth, illness etc.
