This album, comprised of 87 pages on which 258 photographs are mounted, consists of two main subject matters: the development of Yellowknife during the late 1930s to mid 1940s and the state of mining in the Northwest Territories during the 1940s. Specifically, Negus, Ptarmigan, Thompson-Lundmark, and Slave Lake Gold Mines. Also, the hydro power development at Blue Fish and Prosperous Lakes. Photos by M. Meikle, with some works by F. Whyart, R.C.A.F. (Royal Canadian Air Force) and Negus Mine. This album contains a document with an item listing for the prints of the mines by M. Meikle.

Note on the state of conservation:

There is a piece of tape on pg. 82/83 that should be removed. Some photos are bent. The pages should be interleaved.
This note is obsolete. The album was conserved as part of album recontainerization project, 2012.

Custodial history:

This album was originally part of accession 1974-366, which had been integrated into 1973-357. It has since been separated back into the two individual accessions of 1973-357 and 1974-366.
