This album, comprised of 112 pages on which 298 photographs are mounted, documents the Snyder expedition, which took place in 1937. Harry Snyder was a Montreal mining executive who mounted an expedition of the Mackenzie Mountains with George Goodwin (Natural History Museum, N.Y.) and Howard Lambert (Canadian Geological Survey) as the leading scientists. Photos by G. Goodwin and H.F. Lambert for the Snyder Expedition and Capt. E Hoffa and J.P. Richards for the other photographs. Capt. E. Hoffa's (C.P. Airlines) photographs are from 1945 when he made a small flight carrying Miss M. Oldenberg from Coppermine to Winter Harbour, Melville Island. J.P. Richards' photographs detail various government initiatives, such as Wood Buffalo Park, Reindeer Station and the Hay Camp.
