Fonds consists of business and private letters relating to Goodwin's service with the Hudson's Bay Company, n.d., 1776 to 1801 (Guildhall reference MS 6481). This correspondence includes letters from family and other traders to Goodwin as well as drafts of his letters, reports on trade, and miscellaneous accounts. Goodwin discussed family matters, his work with the Hudson's Bay Company, the Napoleonic wars, the trial for theft of William Walters, 1801, on board the Prince of Wales; rivalry with the XY Company and the depressed state of trade. This material is located on microfilm reel A-2159.
