This series contains local administrative records and general records relating to the war crimes trials and investigations of Japanese officers accused of atrocities against Canadian prisoners-of-war. In addition to records relating to the general operations of the Canadian Army War Crimes Investigation Section are: the Section's daily log; lists of Canadian casualties, prisoners-of-war and missing personnel in the Far East; a list of Japanese war criminal suspects; and affidavits, summaries of evidence, and general remarks concerning the Canadian cases. Separate, but related, is correspondence concerning Gert Lamartine, a German emigrant with Canadian citizenship living in Japan, and his desire to return to Canada. Local administrative files are filed in numerical order.
