Collection consists of photographs of old steam engines and trains, and scenic views taken along the Canadian Pacific Railway line, mainly in Western Canada. Transcontinental express "The Dominion" of the CPR passing the following sites: Mirror Lake, Lake Louise, Yoho National Park, Emerald Lake, Mount Selkirk, Mount Cheops, Mount Tupper and Mount Donald, Great Divide, Kicking Horse Pass, Cathedral Crags, Mount Rundle, Mount Stephen and the Valley of the Ten Peaks.

Collection also contains lantern slides showing Canadian scenes taken from the Canadian Pacific Railway line, views of streets and human activities.

Photographs taken by John Buckland, G.H. Soole, John M. Miller, Newton & Co., London, and a photo by the CPR. The CPR engine numbers are as follows: 2226, 2227, 2322, 2339, 2706, 2707, 2709, 2803, 2810, 3495, 3811, 5384, 5386, 5391, 5701, 5703, 5803, 5806, 5807, 5809, 5810, 5811, 5814, 5900, 5904, 5905, 5907, and 5908.
