Sub-sub-series consists of census returns for the Census of the Northwest Provinces, 1906. For the year 1906, only a microfilm copy of the first schedule - Population - is available. The paper records and the majority of Schedule 2 (Agriculture) have not survived.

The 1906 census returns in this sub-sub series are from Manitoba (T-18353 to T-18357), Saskatchewan (T-18357 to T-18361) and Alberta (T-18361 to T-18363). The records are nominal, listing each person individually, with details as to sex, martial status, age, country or place of birth, year of immigration, address, and live stock.

Title is based on the contents of the sub-sub-series.

Note on the state of conservation:

Users are advised that the microfilm is not of a consistent standard and as such not all images (including digitized images of the microfilm) are decipherable.

Custodial history:

The microfilm copies of the 1906 census returns were produced outside of the National Archives of Canada during the 1950s. Microfilms were transferred to the custody and control of the National Archives, without restrictions, on 24 January 2003.

Copy/version note:

The digitized images were prepared from the microfilmed census returns.
