The film starts with the inter-title; "A double track block system railway facilitates the work of construction". A locomotive travels around a bend shored up with timber beams. Shot of locomotive on a bridge. Intertitle; "Type of 40-ton locomotive". Shot of the locomotive. Intertitle; "The rock crushers. Capacity 2000 tons a day". Rail cars dumping thier load into the crusher. Close-up of the crusher. Intertitle; "At Port Colborne, the monster grain ships of the upper lakes discharge into the elevators, and the grain is carried on in smaller vessels to the ocean ports". Long shot of the port, ships.
