The series consists of registry files documenting the full scope of the Comptroller General function as it evolved after reintegration into the Treasury Board Secretariat. Prior to their arrival at the archives, the records in this series were coded at Treasury Board according to a new file classification system created in the early 1990s (coded with prefix "DCG") or according to a successor file classification system created ca. 2005 (coded with prefix "OCG"). The series incorporates many pre-1993 records as a result of migration of many of the most valuable records to the new system. This series is also successor to many of the functions and activities of the Administrative Policy Branch (APB) before 1993, as well as, after 2005, additional functions and activities of the Treasury Board Secretariat.
