This series documents the career and financial dealings of Wishart Robertson. Included are letters of recommendation from his early career as a railway man in the Transcontinental Railway (1911-1912) file. After returning to Nova Scotia to work as an insurance underwriter, Robertson enlisted in the 85th Highlanders and served in France from 1916-1917. His Military (1916-1919) file includes letters of appreciation. The Scottish National War Memorial file documents Robertson's attempts to get the Highlanders recognized as part of Scotland's contribution to the First World War. There are files on his various business ventures, including his investments in Newfoundland Canada Steamships Limited, Eastern Trust Company and Pinecrest Investments. There are also files on two of Robertson's automobile dealerships, Argyle Motors and Provincial Motors. Much of this material deals with Robertson's concerns with import restrictions and tariffs on American-made cars. There are also a number of files dealing with family properties in Nova Scotia.
