Sub-series consists of records dealing with Vancouver Centre constituent issues and requests. The first section consists of concerns dealing with national interests raised by constituents, arranged alphabetically by the federal department responsible for the issue (volumes 155-172, 1985-1988). Topics include the abortion debate, the Free Trade Agreement, nuclear disarmament, Ban on Tobacco Advertising and other issues attracting the public's attention during the mid-1980s. Also included in this block are files dealing with meetings and requests for meetings by constituents of Vancouver Centre.

The sub-series also consists of records dealing with issues surrounding Vancouver (volumes 174-177). The files document issues and subjects concerning the city's residents: including Expo '86 and B.C. Place, Granville Island, senior citizens, the Port of Vancouver and the city's youth, associations and harbour, among others. The records are arranged alphabetically by subject.

Records dealing with British Columbia (volumes 177-178) are arranged alphabetically by topic. The files document general provincial issues (business, associations, native land claims) as well as provincial caucus matters (including nominations and meetings).

The sub-series also consists of subject files on local and national issues, trips and speeches kept by Carney's staff in Ottawa, mostly dealing with Vancouver and British Columbia (volumes 178-185). Subjects include the Asia Pacific Initiative, South Moresby and Western Diversification, trips by the Minister to the Far East (Tokyo, Hong Kong and Taiwan), and a number of speeches on these issues.
