Collection search - Modified Duplex Numeric Central Registry Records of Manitoba Regional Office and The Pas District Office [textual and graphic record]

This accession consists of administrative and operational records dating from 1948-1980 that were created and/or maintained by the Manitoba Regional Office as well as from The Pas District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs; and 2.1 metres of aerial photographs of various Manitoba Indian reserves created by the Manitoba Regional Office between 1944-1973. Subjects covered by the administrative files include but are not limited to the following: Organization and Administration, Indian Treaties and Planning. Subjects covered by operational file include but are not limited to the following: Natural Resources, Placement of Indian Labour, and Policy Planning and Communication. The textual records are grouped by office of origin and are arranged according to the department's old modified duplex numeric file system. The aerial photographs are all classified in block 36-2 (Maps and Plans) of the old modified duplex numeric file system and arranged therein by the band number.

Records originating from The Pas District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs were first sent to the department's Manitoba Regional Office in Winnipeg prior to being shipped to the Manitoba Region Federal Records Centre.
