Dickins, Clennell Haggerston, 1899-1995 : Clennel Haggerston (Punch) Dickins was born 12 January 1899 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. He began his military career in the early 1900s. Following WWI, Dickins joined Western Canada Airways as a bush pilot. Dickins flew the first flight across the Northwest Territories, and also piloted the first aircraft on the prairie airmail circuit of Winnipeg, Regina, Calgary, Edmonton, and Saskatoon. He was also the first pilot to fly the full length of Mackenzie River. In 1974 he was inducted into Canada's Aviation Hall of Fame. Dickins died 3 August 1995. Canada. Photographs were loaned to the National Archives of Canada in 1973 by Clennell Haggerston Dickins. Material was copied and returned to lender. Moving image material was acquired in 1969 from Dickins.
