Series consists of files created by the Mining Roads Division and its successor, the Special Mineral Projects Division. They relate to the administration and coordination of the mining roads program which was initiated in Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, British Columbia, Yukon Territory and the Northwest Territories under the Unemployment Relief and Assistance Act of 1936 and the Unemployment and Agricultural Assistance Act of 1937, the drafting of agreements with the provinces and the development of the federal tourist highway project.
