Series consists of correspondence and other papers relating to the acquisition of steel for defence projects. Most of these records are arranged by the names of suppliers of steel for government projects, by standard requirements for various tender calls or by the names of individual projects. Included are construction programmes for each of the armed services, some information on prefabricated buildings, messes, hanger and hospital facilities and reports on steel deliveries to construction sites.
