Series consists of records relating to a dispute between the Province of Ontario and the Military Hospitals Commission (MHC). In 1916 the Ontario Government offered the newly built Guelph Reformatory and Whitby Hospital as well as other buildings owned by the provincial government to the Military Hospitals Commission for use as military hospitals. The offer was accepted and, when the buildings were vacated in 1920 by the successor to the MHC, the Department of Soldiers' Civil Re-Establishment, a lengthy dispute ensued concerning financial claims and counter claims of the two governments. The records include correspondence, memoranda and financial statements.
