Miller begins with a brief discussion of her ancestors and a background of the family farm on the Opeongo Line, an historical route used by the early settlers in the Valley. She speaks of her childhood in Renfrew - her early interest in art, her disappointment in not persuing a scholarship to the Ontario College of Art, her experiences as a teacher in Killaloe, "the best years of my life", and her decision to run for city councillor in Renfrew. Other topics include her memories of Charlotte Whitton, former mayor of Ottawa and her husband's bottling business in Renfrew. Miller concludes with a discussion of art touching on her mixed feelings about her ability, her art training, her interest in abstract art and the reaction to Finnigan's work, "The Best Damn Fiddler from Calabogie".Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
