Press conference held by a coalition opposing the proposed purchase of nuclear submarines by Canada - ie. Operation Dismantle, represented by Ish Theilheimer, President; Gretchen Brewin, the Mayor of Victoria; the Honourable Warren Allmand, Liberal MP; Dr. Pauline Jewett, New Democratic Party MP; John Murphy, Mayor of St. John's, Newfoundland, and Jack Masters, Mayor of Thunder Bay.~In an opening statement, Mr. Theilheimer announces the launching of a campaign against Canada's proposed purchase of nuclear submarines (announced in the 1987 White Paper of the Department of National Defence). The other participants explain the nature of their opposition.
