Canada. Health and Welfare Canada. Civil Aviation Medicine Division : The Civil Aviation Medicine Division of the Medical Services Branch was established by Order in Council (P.C. 94-4516, 30 October 1946) and began functioning in the spring of 1948. This division acted as a medical advisory board to the Department of Transport in all matters pertaining to the health, comfort and safety of both aircraft crews and passengers. It promoted safe aviation in Canada by assisting in accident investigation and safety training. The division also provided advice and assistance in aeromedical research and development.
