Laboratory of Hygiene (Canada) : The Laboratory of Hygiene was created to provide special technical assistance to the Food and Drug Directorate, and provincial departments of health and hospitals to improve health laboratory services. In 1970, the Laboratory of Hygiene became the Laboratory Centre for Disease Control (LCDC). LCDC addresses specific human disease problems in epidemiological infections, chronic disease surveillance and investigation.
