Film includes sequences on:~Coastal freighter in Bamfield; children in rowboats; the entrance to Creek; a fishing boat putting to sea; seagulls; the mountains and islands of Barclay Sound; Indian fisherman on the wharf at Dodger Cove; and jellyfish.~An old Indian man making a dugout canoe with an axe; Reverend George Kinney and another man give it a try; and an Indian fisherman with a salmon.~A family visits a lighthouse; a shot from the top, over houses, to the sea; close up of light at either Tofino of Ahousat.~Fish packer at sea; entering an unidentified harbour; the Rose, a fishing boat, sailing by; a large seiner passing by; and a storm at sea from the deck of the Mission boat.~A visit to the Gibsons at Ahousat; birds on the sand at Long Beach; a truck driver in his truck drives along the sand on Long Beach; surf rolling in; fishing boats tied up in Tofino; fishing huts on piles; silhouettes of head; a calm glassy bay; sea-lions on rocks, in the sea, and leaping off rocks, perhaps near Tofino; and scenery and islands.~Shots of a lighthouse with children outside in the sun; the keeper and his wife pose with children and dog; the CPR ship Princess Norah sails by.~Indian women readying baskets to sell; women sitting with baskets on the wharf at Nootka; unloading salmon at Nootka onto a conveyor belt; the stern portside of the Princess Maquinna tied up in Nootka; unloading supplies; white women buying baskets from Indian women; salmon being unloaded from boat, moving up conveyor belt; salmon in hold; white tourists with baskets; oil drums unloading from ship; white girls disembark; and people coming out in boats to greet the ship.~Totem poles at Friendly Cove, some standing and some fallen, one is a figure of a man leaning over on an angle; mountains and scenery on west coast; logging camp on floats from the water; Indian village with totems; Indians coming out to meet Melvin Swartout; seiners working at sea; seiners tied up at small floats; a rock, weathered and watered, sticks out of sea in a crusty column acting as a marker.~Kyuquot Indian lodges with totems, lodge poles/house posts, very beautiful; woman in a shawl; many shots of poles, all painted; well-loaded seiner hauling in net after net of salmon; Indian fishermen; Indian school at Ahousat; children and Reverend Gibson singing, in the classroom, and playing basketball with all their families watching; and sunset at Ahousat. <12mn 30s>
