Sub-series consists of an incomplete calendar listing the despatches found on pages 130-395 of volume 25 (Despatches sent, British Columbia sub-series), and noting date of despatch, correspondents, page references and subject (volume 26); and the introductionm to a historical essay of 1940, by D. G. Pyle, which analyses the development of colonial government in British Columbia as revealed in the records found in vols. 19 and 21-25 (Despatches sent, Vancouver Island sub-series and Despatches sent, British Columbia sub-series).
