The photographs were taken mainly for use in publications, and many of them were used by the photo stock agency Miller Services. The collection can be broken into four general, overlapping areas: (1) 35mm slides (colour), arranged by province; (2) transparencies, and black and white and colour negatives, stored in 4 x 5 paper envelopes; (3) colour transparencies, black and white negatives, and black and white prints, for use in Cabinetmkers of the Eastern Seaboard; (4) miscellaneous 4 x 5 format, 2 1/4 mounted colour transparencies, and non-35mm black and white rollfilm negatives. The colour transparency material is virtually all Kodachrome.. 35mm colour slides, arranged by province, taken mainly in the period 1972-1977:Nova Scotia: including the following places (although other places are occasionally found): Blue Rocks, Kejimkujik Point. The major subjects include: seashore, fishing, and general views.., The majority of these items are from the period 1967-1972. Much of the material from 1972 duplicates in subject content similar 35mm material described above.. Other material includes (by way of example): portraits of fashion models; Expo'67, Montreal; Expo '70, Osaka; winter scenes in Hudson, Quebec; activities in Ottawa and Montreal; portraits of individuals.., This material was used for illustrating a book on the work of pre-twentieth century New Brunswick cabinetmakers, and comprises views from many idfferent angles of exaples of cabinetry included in the final publication, as well as those not included.di., Including colour transparencies and black and white negatives..
