Fonds consists of photographs that depict various activities and personalities of the Canadian Zionist Federation, including Samuel Zacks and Hyman Bessin, views of events, personalities, and parades in Israel, 1955-1970; laying the corner stone of the offices of the Jewish National Fund, Jerusalem, Israel, 1930; activities across Canada of the Zionist Organization of Canada, 1950-1971; anniversary celebrations of the independence of Israel in major Canadian cities; first Jewish-Canadian Commission to Israel, 1959; aspects of aid to Israel; World Zionist Congress, Israel, 1965; Great Zionist Weekend, Ottawa, Ont., 1968; Israel Bond Drives in Montreal, Que. and Winnipeg, Man.; and officials of several organizations.

Also included in fonds is moving image material including documentary and fiction films that document the 20th century Jewish experience. Included is a film about the building of Canada Park in Israel by the Jewish National Fund of Canada; and part one of the series On Guard (1964), dealing with the situation of Jewish people in Quebec. Canadian Zionist Federation : The first Canadian Zionist society was founded in Montreal in 1898. The Federation of Zionist Societies of Canada, an umbrella organization for it and other Canadian groups, was created in 1899, later to become the Zionist Organization of Canada (1925) and thereafter the Canadian Zionist Federation (1967). The Zionist Organization of Canada/CZF coordinates the Zionist societies across Canada, and sponsors the Jewish National Fund and Keren Hayesod. Their affiliate groups have included Habonim, Young Judea and Hadassah. The Zionist Organization of Canada/CZF runs conventions, sends delegates to the World Zionist Convention, promotes aliyah, trips to Israel, lectures, pro-Israel rallies and other such events, releases informational publications, and has many educational programs and materials.
