New Oil Reference Prices Program (Canada) : The New Oil Reference Prices Program emerged from the Memorandum of Agreement between the Government of Canada and the Government of Alberta relating to Energy Pricing and Taxation, 1 September 1981. Taxation and revenue sharing for new light oil was linked to the world price for oil. It was designed as incentive for further exploration.
