Collection consists of National Film Board footage of Canada's 2nd Infantry Brigade Group in West Germany, Nato training manoeuvres and a Dominion Day military tatoo.

Photographic material documents the 2nd Canadian Infantry Brigade Group's tour of duty at Fort Henry, near Soest, West Germany, 1955-1957. Events depicted include official visits of Brigadier Robert L. Purvis, General Sir Richard N. Gale, Major-General John M. Rockingham, Hon. Ralph Campney, Major-General M.L. Brennan, Lt.-General Harold E. Pyman, Major-General Hon. George R. Pearkes, and Sir George Drew. Also depicted are training and leisure activities of Brigade personnel; views of the International Military Ski competition, Andermat, Switzerland, March 1957; activities of families such as sporting events, Christmas celebrations, voting, Red Cross meeting, and Boy Scout camp. Many of the photographs include Brigadier Roger Rowley, Brigade Group Commander.
