Fonds consists of oral history interviews on the topic of international development and foreign aid. Those interviewed include Arnold Smith, Robert Bryce, Norma E. Walmsley, David Pallock, Louis Rasminsky, Père Georges-Henri Lévesque, Jake Warren, Mitchell Sharp, Claude M. Isbister, Joe Morris, Fulgence Charpentier and Cardinal Léger. These interviews were part of an oral history project by the North-South Institute entitled Canadians in a wider world.

The fonds also contains photographic material consisting of depictions of Jake Warren, Joe Morris, Rev. Georges-Henri Lévesque, Cardinal Paul-Emile Léger, Dr. Norma E. Walmsley, David H. Pollack and other personalities interviewed in the North-South Institute's oral history project "Canadians in a Wider World". Other photographs depict: Rev. Georges-Henri Lévesque alone and with Venant N'tabumvura, Rector of the University of Ruanda; Joe Morris, labour leader; Jake H. Warren as Assistant Deputy Minister for Trade and Commerce, 1959-1960 (copy), and as Ambassador in his role as Canadian Co-ordinator for multilateral Trade Negotiations, 1987-1989.

North-South Institute (Ottawa, Ont.) : The North-South Institute (NSI), is an independent Canadian research institute with its primary focus on international development. The Institute fulfills its mandate by conducting research on Canada's relations with developing countries as well as on a wide range of foreign policy issues. The North-South Institute was established in 1976 as a non-profit and non-partisan organization.
