Fonds consists of a film entitled Shuswap Indians of British Columbia, produced in 1928 for the Department of Mines and the Natioinal Museum of Canada by Harlan I. Smith. Photographic material depicts the visit of HRH Princess Elizabeth and Prince Philip to Vancouver, British Columbia. Photographs are by Donald E. Lytle.

Biography/Administrative history:

Lytle, Donald E., 1919-2001 : Donald Lytle was born in 1919. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force during the Second World War. Following his leave from the RCAF, Lytle worked for Vancouver Motion Pictures as a cameraman. In early 1960 he took a staff advisory post for the coordintation of procurement, production and distribution between CBC's English and French networks in Montreal. His career with the CBC led him to the position of Corporate Director of Film Operations. Lytle was married to Katherine Ingalls with whom he had three children. Lytle died in Ottawa on Thursday, 13 December 2001 at the age of 82 years.
