Federal Propane Vehicle Program (Canada) : The Federal Propane Vehicle Program was designed to convert crown owned automobiles from gas to propane. The program emerged from the NEP, was established on 5 February 1981 by Treasury Board minute 775208 (2 March 1981) and ended in March 1985. The original goal was the conversion of 8000 federal vehicles in a five year period. The target was not achieved due to a slower pace of conversions factors but continued support was sought. The program expended over 0 million. The grant portion of the activity was shutdown on 31 March 1985 but the educational aspect of the program continued to 31 March 1986.
