Fonds consists of an incomplete copy of Vidovdan, a film of Serbian Day celebrations in Niagara Falls and a sound recording of an interview with Bulat about the Serbian community in Canada on Voice of America. The fonds also contains textual records: personal documents, correspondence and related material; publications and other printed material, related to the Serbian community. A poster is located in horizontal storage, vol. 36.

Included are photographs which detail Pero Bulat speaking in public; with community leaders; building the Gracanica Serbian Orthodox church in Windsor; with sports team; business enterprises; market. There are group shots of G. Vuicic, Pero Bulat, Paul Martin, and/or Stoisin, and/or J. Martin; Allied flyers rescued by Serbian "Chetniks" in Yugoslavia during World War II; Fourth Congress Serbian National Defence Council of America, Chicago, 1945; All Serbian Congress, Chicago, 1947; Fifth Convention Serbian National Federation, Pittsburgh, Pa., 1947..

Bulat, Pero, 1899-1983 : Born in Vrgin-Most, Banija on 7 October 1899, Pero Bulat served in the Royal Yugoslav Armed Forces and was discharged in 1920. He emigrated to Canada in 1926 as a farm-labourer. He worked in Western Canada and northern Ontario. Soon after his arrival in Shumacher, Ontario he became a founding member of a lodge of the Serbian National Federation. He later found employment in Windsor, Ontario. He was an organizer and president of the Sokols in Windsor; one of the organizers and president of the Yugoslav Canadian Association 1939-1942; one of the founders of the Serbian National Shield Society of Canada and served as its president for 28 years (1944-1953, 1955-1974). In 1974 he was elected lifetime honorary president.

From the 1930's he owned and managed several businesses including a tavern and hotel, a grocery store, a clothing store, a factory and a farm. He was also chairman of the Avala Printing and Publishing Co. Ltd. from 1954 until his death.

During World War II, Pero Bulat served on the Executive Committee of the Red Cross and was president of a 15,000 member all-Slav organization. He was a member of a Serbian Canadian delegation to Ottawa which requested the Canadian government to allow Serbian prisoners-of-war and refugees to enter Canada after the war.

This collection was donated in 1985 and in 1989 by Mrs. Rada Bulat; additional archival material was presented to the National Archives by Mrs. Bulat in 1986.
