New London Northern Railroad Company : La New London Northern Railroad Company a été constituée en société en vertu des lois des États du Connecticut et du Massachusetts en 1859 et en 1860. Elle acquerra, le 30 mars 1861, la propriété de l'ancienne New London, Willimantic and Palmer Railroad Company et, le 1er mars 1864, celle de la Amherst, Belchertown and Palmer Railroad Company. Le 8 octobre 1866, elle achèvera la construction de 14,5 milles de ligne ferroviaire supplémentaires entre Amherst et Millers Falls (Massachusetts) et, le 1er avril 1880, elle acquerra de la Vermont and Massachusetts Railroad Company 21 milles de ligne ferroviaire reliant Millers Falls (Massachusetts) et Brattleboro (Vermont). A terme, la New London Northern disposera donc d'une ligne ferroviaire de 125,18 milles entre New London (Connecticut) et Brattleboro (Vermont). Le 25 juin 1873, la ligne ferroviaire sera prise à bail et exploitée par la Central Vermont Railroad Company et elle sera prise à charge par la suite par la société qui lui succédera, la Central Vermont Railway Company. En 1951, les actions de la société seront acquises par la Central Vermont et, le 22 juillet 1952, la New London Northern Railroad Company sera officiellement dissoute.
