Fonds consists of the two Canadian feature films directed by Turner entitled The little Canadian and Étienne Brûlé gibier de potence; documentaries on Old Fort Henry and the Queen's Own Regiment; an interview with Dr. Charles Best; an episode of the CBC World of sport series entitled Wall of ice; episodes of the CBC Profile series; and an excerpt from the fiction feature film Here will I nest.

Turner, Melburn E : Melburn E. Turner was born in London, Ontario on 25 March 1908. Turner's interest in films began when he was a member of London's Little Theatre in London, Ontario. His first film, Here will I nest (1941), was the first sound colour feature made in Canada. This was followed by Etienne Brûlé gibier de potence (1951) and The little Canadian (1954). Turner directed several short films in the 1940s for Associated Screen News, and also worked as producer with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in the 1960s and early 1970s.
