Toronto Scottish Regiment : The Toronto Scottish Regiment had its beginnings in the First World War when, on 1 July 1915, the 75th (Mississauga) Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Force came into being. Following the end of the war, the 75th returned to Toronto, Ontario. Fearing another war, a concerned federal government authorized the re-establishment of the battalion. On 8 June 1921 the battalion was re-designated as The Toronto Scottish Regiment. In 1937, Queen Elizabeth agreed to become the regiment's Colonel-in-Chief.
