Public Archives of Prince Edward Island : The Provincial Archives of Prince Edward Island, officially known as the Public Archives and Records Office of Prince Edward Island (PARO) "acquires, preserves, and makes available for public research the records of the government of this province and private-sector papers and records deemed to be of lasting historical value." The Archives houses textual materials such as correspondence files, journals, and newspapers, and materials in other formats and media including photographs, maps, architectural drawings, film, and sound recordings.
