Rank Film Distributors : Rank Film Distributors, a United Kingdom distribution company, had its beginnings in General Film Distributors (GFD) set up in 1933 in the UK by Universal, Charles M. Woolf and J. Arthur Rank to control distribution of his films. Thereafter, General Film Distributors became Rank Film Distributors. In 1997 Rank Film Distributors was bought by Carlton International.

This collection was part of the Canadian Film Institute's (CFI) transfer to the National Archives on May 12, 1975. The CFI received the material in 1965 and 1973 from Rank Film Distributors.
