Women's Liberal Federation of Canada : The Women's Liberal Federation of Canada was established in 1887 by women in the Liberal Party of Canada who were in favour of women's suffrage. The Federation gave a national focus to the many local Women's Liberal Associations which had been set up earlier in the decade. The Countess of Carlisle was the original president of the Federation.
