CJOC (Radio station : Lethbridge, Alta.) : CJOC, Lethbridge, Alberta's first radio station, was founded in 1926 by John Endor (Jock) Palmer. Programming consisted of one to two hours a day of local news, music, drama, public affairs shows, market prices, church services, and hockey broadcasts. Palmer's associates were William (Bill) Grant, a Calgary engineer, and Harold R. Carson, a local garage and tire dealer who was interested in selling and servicing batteries. In 1928 Harold Carson bought out his partners and took over CJOC. The CJOC and CFLA-FM licences were transferred to Rogers Broadcasting on Rogers purchase of Maclean-Hunter in 1992. Seely, Brent.
