Collection consists of films shot by Al Sims, bush pilot, on a salvage operation, and during the iron-ore deposits find of Labrador. The films depict natural resources and mining development in Innu and Naskapi territories, specifically in North West River and Churchill Falls (formerly known as Hamilton Falls) in Labrador and in Schefferville (formerly Burnt Creek), Lake Waswanipi and Sept-Iles (all in Québec).

Sims, Al : Al A.G. "Tim" Sims (fl. 1975), was a bush pilot. He came to Canada from England in 1928 as a technical rep at Canadian Wright. Between 1929 and 1939, he flew extensively on bush operations. He held a variety of senior positions with the Government and in industry. He joined Canadair Ltd., in 1948, and became their Director of Military Transport Aircraft Sales.
