Royal Canadian Hussars : The Royal Canadian Hussars descend directly from the volunteer cavalry corps formed in Montréal in the late 18th century, the 6th Duke of Connaught's Royal Canadian Hussars, R.C.A.C., and the 17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars, R.C.A.C. The amalgamation became effective 15 September 1958, and were designated the Royal Canadian Hussars (Montréal).
