Regent Vending and Amusements : Regent Vending & Amusements Ltd., an Ottawa-based vending and amusements company, was established by Mac Levin who died in 1977. In the early 1960s Levin commissioned a number of "rock videos" shot on 16mm film. The video clips were initially made for a novel jukebox invention that incorporated a movie screen. Clips were made for both the A-side and B-side of each single. The entrepreneurial Levin believed this would put him at the forefront of a new trend, one that did not catch on for another 20 years. In 1964 Levin used this technology to shoot a video for The Esquires, the first Canadian pop band to win a Juno award. The video was temporarily lost until 1987, when it was unearthed by Levin's son and owner of Regent Vending & Amusements Ltd., Eric Levin. Erskine, Evelyn.
