New World Pictures of Canada Ltd : Producer Pierre David, Chairman and CEO of Image Organization Inc., began his career in Canada in 1969 when he created Mutual Films, a Toronto-based film production and distribution company for the Mutual Broadcasting Network. Mutual Films first operated in French Canada. A few years later, David formed a partnership with landmark U.S. filmmaker Roger Gorman and established New World Mutual Pictures of Canada, to distribute feature films in English speaking Canada. The firm rapidly became the largest independent film distributor in Canada handling films for New World Pictures and Avco Embassy, as well as Mutual Film's European, American and Canadian acquisitions and productions.
