Series contains albums of photographs depicting Robertson Davies receiving honorary degrees from the University of Manitoba and the University of Santa Clara, California. A commemorative album for the production of "Leave As Is" at the Hart House Theatre, 1973. Photographs from correspondence including Robertson Davies receiving a Fellowship of the Royal Conservatory of Music, the executive meeting of the D.D.F., a public relations photo for the "Deptford Trilogy", a portrait of Brenda Davies in "At My Heart's Core", Donald Davies as Henry Benedict Stuart in the Crest production of "Hunting Stuart, "The Masque of Aesop" at Upper Canada College, Preparatory School. Photographers include Tom Sandler, Ballard-Jarrett, Ralph Greenhill, John Steele and the Alberta government (acc. 24210). The photographs depict Robertson Davies and his colleagues at the Oxford Dramatic Society. He is also shown at convocations receiving honorary degrees.
Series also contains photographs relating to Robertson Davies' activities as playwright, novelist and scholar: photos of Davies' production, Hope Deferred: cast includes Virginia Watt, Les Ciceri, John Drexler, Fred Devlin, Bruce Pfeiffer; Robertson Davies receiving an honorary degree from the University of Windsor (1971); photos taken during Davies' research for his novel, The Lyre of Orpheus, pertaining to opera production; Robertson Davies, Mayor John Eakins, Nicholas Goldschmidt, and Dr. William Service attending Davies', The Centennial Play (1967) (acc. 18533). Robertson Davies is also shown receiving other honorary degrees and with his colleagues at the Oxford Dramatic Society.
