Collection consists of various films by or about Canada, produced in Canada, United States, United Kingdom and Australia. Films include four Canadian documentary shorts and one US fiction short entitled The Trail of the Maple Leaf; A Typical British Columbia Logging Operation; The Story of Grain of Wheat; A Leap for Life for Trappers and Indians in Canada; and Hydro Power for Vancouver. Also included is the Australian fiction feature film entitled For the Term of His Natural Life.

Australia. National Film and Sound Archive : The National Film Sound Archive of Australia, known today as ScreenSound Australia, is "the" national institution with primary responsibility for preserving and providing access to Australia's audiovisual heritage. It is also the largest and most developed audiovisual archive in the South East Asia/Pacific region. ScreenSound has headquarters in Canberra, regional offices in Sydney and Melbourne, and access centers in Adelaide, Brisbane, Hobart and Perth. The work that ScreenSound Australia undertakes dates back to the National Historical Film and Speaking Record Library (part of the Commonwealth National Library), which was established by a Cabinet decision on 11 December 1935. The National Film and Sound Archive was established as a separate Commonwealth collecting institution in 1984. At that time, a Council was established to guide the institution. Although the Archive's name was changed to ScreenSound Australia: The National Collection of Screen and Sound on 21 June 1999, its role as Australia's national audiovisual archive remained unchanged.
