The series consists of Gregory Clark's "footnotes" about his father Joseph T. Clark, and the latter's personal and professional correspondence. The "footnotes" are short reminiscences of his father's career as editor of the "Toronto Star" and some of the colourful personalities with whom he worked. Joseph T. Clark's notable correspondents included Goldwin Smith (five letters), William Jennings Bryan, A. Beverley Baxter, Hamar Greenwood (later Viscount Greenwood), and J. F. MacKay. There is also a photograph of Viscount Greenwood dating from 1932.
